WARA’s official partnership with South African Airways means that participants will benefit from discounted fares. And, SAA flies direct from Washington, DC to Dakar’s Leopold Sedar Senghor airport, so there is no need for long flights through Europe.
Participants will be lodged at the Hotel Djoloff in Dakar. This charming hotel features the work of Senegalese artists and photographers in a unique design space. Enjoy breakfast on the rooftop terrace looking out on the sea where you can see the fishing boats bringing in the day’s catch.
Participants must provide proof of medical insurance, including evacuation and repatriation. Check with your medical insurance provider to see if you are covered while overseas. If not, there are a number of companies offering short term medical, evacuation and repatriation coverage for overseas travel. Seven Corners is one of these. There will be an MD on call during the institute.
Visas are not required for US citizens. For other nationalities, please check with the Senegalese embassy in your country.
